Maple and Mahogany Wooden Pizza Peel

This baker's tool is used to transfer uncooked dough to an oven, and to remove the baked item from the oven.

This was a commission specifically for pizza in a home oven. The pizza peels professional bakers use have very long handles for reaching into very deep ovens.

The edge is fairly sharp to get under the cooked dough in the oven. It is thin and lightweight for ease of handling. Thin wood is not strong and so I laminated maple with mahogany. It also made it more appealing to the eye.

This wooden pizza peel measures about 14 inches in length and width, and the handle is another 12 inches.
