Maple Platters

These platters range from nine to fourteen inches in diameter. The wood is "Broadway maple." That is to say is silver maple from a tree on my street which is Broadway Road in Timonium, Maryland. The tree was dying when it was taken down. The dying limbs released pigments which stained the wood all the interesting and subtle colors.

This is a new design for me, featuring a turned wood bead on the inner edge of the platter.
