Spalted Norway Maple Plate

Norway maple is considered an invasive species but to my way of thinking it is a very attractive wood. They think that the Stradivarius violins and cellos were made of this wood.

An alert member of my woodturning club in Baltimore when I lived there saved this from the firewood pile. I salvaged many beautiful bowls and plates as well as some small burls from this tree which had died. It is 9 1/2 inches in diameter and is $90 plus shipping.
